Dr. Klint Pleasant has over 20 years of experience in leading people and institutions. He’s held senior level positions within the University setting and has worked with countless individuals as a College basketball coach. As an executive, he led a turnaround in multiple departments at Rochester University. His leadership and ability to impact culture helped produce a turn around which resulted in record revenue and enrollment at Rochester University. Under his leadership, the athletic department moved from eight sports to 21 and 130 student athletes to 350. As a college basketball coach, he has amassed over 240 wins, two Small College National Championships, and numerous top 25 NAIA national rankings. He’s won National Coach of the Year and Conference Coach of the Year as well as being named the Conference Coach of Character.
Pleasant has served at: Wayne State University, University of Tennessee-Martin, Kent State University, Abilene Christian and Rochester University. While at Kent State, he helped lead the team to an NCAA I Elite Eight appearance in 2001, with wins over University of Alabama, Oklahoma State University and University of Pittsburg. In addition, he helped develop players that went on to play in both the NBA and NFL. That team, and coaching staff, has since been inducted into the Kent State Athletic Hall of Fame as a Team of Distinction.
Klint speaks on a regular basis throughout the region. He specializes in: culture transformation, team building, one on one or group sessions related to personal growth, and spiritual development. He has an amazing personal journey which includes struggle, wrestling with his own faith, and personal resilience in the face of adversity.
Pleasant completed his Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Lipscomb University, and focused his dissertation in the field of Change Management.
He and his brother, along with his father, Garth Pleasant, have been pillars in the greater Rochester community. They consistently speak at local civic and school events, as well as officiate weddings and funerals. They have also been serving the community for over 40 years by running the legendary Lake Norcentra Basketball Camps in the summer. The summer camps has helped thousands of young children with both basketball and life skills.
